Desolation Row by Kay Kendall

King Henry read another book this week. It was Desolation Row by Kay Kendall. He said he liked the story but wasn't feeling the ending so much. He said the book also lacked cats. Couldn't the murderer be a cat?

Funeral with a View by Matt Schiariti

The King has been reading like crazy this week. He just finished Funeral with a View by Matt Schiariti and he said he liked it. He just says that he wishes there were cats in the story. He feels there are not enough cat in romance books and wishes that would change. The King says to please support him with the hashtag #weneedcatsinbooks. The King is off to his next book and wants to know what's  the last book you read that had a cat in it. He is taking recommendations.

Jacob Smith is Incredibly Average by Erin Hayes

Do you read from your phone? Well the King sure does. He borrowed my phone and finished reading "Jacob Smith is Incredibly Average" by Erin Hayes. I asked him to write (yes the King can write) a review of the book after he finish and this is what he wrote:

I saw this book shared from an author I follow on Facebook. The cover looked like an old computer game I played when I was you
nger. Therefore, I was intrigued to read the synopsis. Finding out its about an alien race wanting to take over earth had me wanting to read it. I was presently surprised on how much I liked this book. Even though it's aim at the middle school crowd as an adult I thought it was very entertaining. The writing is well written and I could picture this book becoming a movie. Overall, a very fun read.

I would recommend this book for fans of the Percy Jackson, and the Pendragon series. .

Fine Art of Pretending by Rachel Harris

King Henry heard that I went to the Houston Book rave and got to hang out with a bunch of authors. I bought the Fine Art of Pretending by Rachel Harris and he instantly took the book away from me. He said he won't give it back till he's done. Below is a pic of me with author Rachel Harris. The king is very jealous.

The book Life

The King has had a hard time picking his next book to read. He's been hanging out in my bookcases. He's so undecided.  He said he wants to read a book where the cat gets the girl. Um.... Okay... King Henry. Good luck on that one.

Mexican White Boy By Matt de la Pena

King Henry is very excited after reading Mexican Whiteboy by Matt de la Pena. He says that this was a 5 star read for him. He loved the diversity and really like the characters. He did says he wishes there were cats in the books but he's not going to hold that against the book.

The Game by Terry Schott

King Henry has been having a pretty rough week this week. He feels he hasn't been fed enough. He's is over 16 lbs and doesn't seem to understand diets. Grumpy cat all the way until he found "The Game" by Terry Schott online for free. The KING loves free books. Well he practically devoured this book. He said the book reminded him of Ready Player One and the Matrix. He said it made him reevaluate his nine libes and he thinks he needs more sleep. King Henry also wants me to mention that he can't wait to read the sequel.

Plastic Confidence by Alisa Mullen

King Henry did a lot of reading this week and he must play catch up. He read indie author Alisa Mullen's book "Plastic Confidence".I asked him what did he think of the book and here is what he told me.

"The cover is what drew me because it's pretty sweet. Overall the story was good but it did have its moments where I raised an eyebrow and a paw. The father/Brennan car situation was pretty weird. Then the last minute conflict at end was a stretch and not needed. Plus there were no cats only a dog in the story. Anyways, like I said I liked the book and thought it had some unpredictable moments. I will definitely check out the author's other works."

Atari & Dark Places

King Henry stayed up late last night and finished reading "Ready Player One" by Ernest Cline. He says the book was amazing and he highly recommends it. He also has a strong need to play old school arcade games and wonders where he can find an atari in good condition.  Ebay maybe?
In other news King Henry has started reading "Dark Places" by Gillian Flynn and already has a feeling he will be losing a lot of naps for this book. Its a suspenseful page turner with a lot of twists and turns. He's already addicted.

Friends & Reading

Friends of King Henry heard about his new blog and they couldn't wait to give him book recommendations. One of his buddies, Neville Longbottom, recommend Allegiant by Veronica Roth. King Henry isn't sure what to do with this recommendation because he's heard mixed reviews about the Divergent Trilogy. King Henry remembers one of his humans being really upset with the last book and he might have seen a book being tossed. Reading in secret just might be the only way he can read Allegiant in his current household.

Another friend of King Henry's  Dusty Rose, (her human is from the blog Chapter Break) recommend Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. Now this is a trilogy that King Henry can't wait to read. Both of  his humans seem to be very big fans.

Samantha one of King Henry's lady friends was really adamant about King Henry reading a classic. She recommends Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. He said it will go on the top of his TBR (to be read)  list.

Ready Player One

King Henry spent today reading. After hearing about this blog, he is no longer shy about his love for reading and wanted to share his thoughts. He spent today binge reading "Ready Player One" by Ernest Cline. He is about 1/2 way in the book and so far he says its really good.  The dystopian novel filled with 80's nostalgia has kept him from taking his usual naps. So he might be kind of grumpy tomorrow.

For more information about Ernest Cline you can find him on his website here

Hello World!

My name is Sofia and I attend Lonestar-Cyfair College. One of my assignments is to make a blog and pick a subject that I like. Well world. I sure love to read and I think cats are adorable, BAM! The combination of both and here goes my blog. I have a 7 year old cat name King Henry and he rules our home with an iron fist. He enjoy napping and eating but I believe when we ( the other human is Manny, my significant other) are away he loves to read. I feel some of my books have been moved and read without my permission and the King is the only suspect. Plus King Henry likes to spend a lot of time online and has a lot of internet cat friends who like to read. He's pretty popular with the ladies and in the book world. So with the help of his friends he will bring you adorable pictures of cats reading and book recommendations. Hope you all enjoy. Don't forget to leave feedback and
maybe some catnip
